Aleem Virji
Two years ago, Aleem suffered a torn ACL. Instead of going to his weekly physical therapy after the surgery, Aleem spent much of his time depressed about the whole situation. A year later, Aleem was in an even worse situation.
“I knew that something had to be done because my weight had reached an all-time high. I weighed in at 230 pounds and 38 percent body fat, being five foot eight, I was obese.”
With his health and daily activity at risk, Aleem’s dad decided to join Omni and asked him if he was interested. Initially, Aleem was skeptical about it, believing it was too late to get back on track. But together, Aleem and his father decided they wanted to change their lives.
To achieve his fitness goals, Aleem gave up all fast food, something he ate three times a day. For the first six months, Aleem only ate grilled chicken or fish with vegetables. But Aleem needed an extra push to reach his goals so he got a trainer.
“Joining Omni and meeting Russ Armistead are the two best decisions I have ever made.”
Aleem began working out seven days a week and training with Russ two times a week.
“The effect of him guiding me toward my goal has been tremendous. He is truly skilled at what he does but more than that, he enjoys what he does.”
After one year with Omni and with the help of Russ, Aleem was able to achieve his goals.
“I now weigh 155 pounds and have 12 percent body fat.”
Even though Aleem achieved his fitness goals, “I have new goals to reach and am currently trying to achieve them. Thanks to the Omni, my father, and my friend Russ for I am a new man.”

Debra Atwood

Always an exercise fanatic, Debra spent countless hours on cardio machines and occasionally lifted a weight or two. Even though she worked out six to seven days a week, Debra failed to see the results she desired.
“I was not really overweight but I could never understand why my body did not reflect the time I was spending at the gym.”
The day Omni opened, Debra’s workout world changed. One day after venturing to the free weights after an hour of cardio an Omni trainer, named Teddy, approached Debra. He asked her what body part she was focusing on that day. Debra, unsure, shrugged her shoulders.
“I had no idea what I was doing or what my focus was or should be.”
Teddy invited Debra to try a training session with him. Debra tentatively agreed and that was the beginning of a whole new workout.
Since her first training session with Teddy, over two years ago, Debra’s outlook on fitness, working out and nutrition took a 180 turn for the better. Since beginning her training sessions, Debra has consistently lifted weights three days a week.
“My body fat composition started out at 23 percent. It is now 16.5 percent. I have dropped inches all over and my old clothes no longer fit…My confidence has soared. At 48 years old, I have never looked better or been in better physical shape.”
Debra’s driving force through-out the last two years has been her trainer, Teddy. Not only sharing his wisdom about training, but his consistency and belief in Debra really helped her reach a new level.
“He pushes me hard and expects me to do my best. He has inspired me to go farther and harder than I ever thought I could. He has a vision for what my body can become and he helped instill that in me.
Although questioned by friends why she spends money on personal training when she can just do it on her own, she says, “I could not [do it on my own]. Personal training has taken me to a level I did not know I was capable of achieving…I feel like this is some of the best money I have ever spent. It is an investment in my health and longevity.”
